The Bush Telegraph Hotel could not be more aptly named. If only you could hear what was being said. Our visit was an eye opener. How can the drunken husband(?) of a bar employee be permitted to wander the hotel and advise his spouse on how to operate the business? Standing on the steps of the hotel this individual would accost people at the door, quiz them, follow patrons and whisper instructions to the barmaid. Disgraceful. Obvious and difficult to ignore. Eventually one sober unaffected man drinking soft drink was denied service by the bar after the drunken "doorman" pointed and whispered about him. This smelly, dirty, person in an encrusted hat seemed to assume ownership of the hotel. Discrete enquiries revealed he is not an employee. The licensee was absent apparently. While the cat's away the mice will play. Go there if you must but beware of the bozo in the hat.
